Running, rambling, and randomness
My alarm went off at 6am yesterday. That’s the first time in a long time that I’ve had a Saturday alarm. Mentally, I was jumping out of bed because I was excited to be able to run again. Physically, I wanted to hit the snooze.
Brain: 1, Body: 0
I got out of bed, sunscreened, and did all that stuff that runners like to do before they head out. My goal was to run one whole loop (2.5 miles) on my favorite route without stopping. Considering I hadn’t run in 11 weeks, I knew that was ambitious. I ran the first mile without walking (go me!) and mostly ran the rest with a little walking thrown in. I’d guess that I ran 2 of the 2.5 miles. Not too shabby. Not too shabby at all.
